NCIS:LA - Traitor

(This episode was understandably delayed because of the breaking news from Ferguson. It did not air in my area and I had to wait to find it online, hence the late posting. But seriously. The news is more important).

This episode is about resolving the 'leak' in their operation - and Chris O'Donnell teased that it was going to be a 'bottle episode' (that's what it's called when the characters stay in one room for the majority/entirety of the episode. Friends perfected the art). I love bottle episodes.
Abed approves.
Deeks thinks Kensi ate his leftovers. And he has the nerve to confront her about it while she's holding a gun in the firing range. He also knows her favourite colour (cornflower blue), favourite movie (Titanic), and random specific details about her, like that she played softball (me too!) and even her favourite NKOTB member (Joey). Then he said that 'loves that she has a softer, lacy, lady side'.
Like reading bridal magazines!
(We're just gonna pretend that's Deeks, not Daniela Ruah's actual husband)

Then Nell interrupts this cute moment to bring them news that Granger was in a car accident (but we already knew that, since it was at the very beginning of the episode). Coincidentally, his accident interrupted what looked like the beginning of a gang fight.
Granger: prevents crime even when half-unconscious.
Sam cries 'mole'.

Eric hates it when Hetty sits calmly and drinks tea, because apparently that mean's something is wrong, especially now that she's on her sixth cup. Now I'm confused about what it means when she does it at the end of an episode. He wants Nell to talk to her, but when she refuses, he decides to do it, then does an awkward British accent and gets all flustered. He's cute when he's flustered. But then she gives him a vaguely ominous warning and thanks him.

Kensi and Deeks go to visit Granger in the hospital, and Deeks calls him a 'curmudgeon'. Good word. Granger seems like he's been drugged, freaks out and grabs onto Kensi and then tries to bite the doctors who rush in to sedate him. The tox screen comes back impossibly fast, and they find out he was poisoned. Sam's ready to kill someone and it shows.
Is Sam the Hulk? He's got the muscles down, but that's about it...
Deeks sounds like my dad - lecturing about replacing the toilet paper (dad's pet peeve). Eric agrees with Deeks that peeing in public toilets is gross. They're in full-on couple mode this episode, and I like it. Turns out the poison was wolfsbane, and there was a wolfsbane plant on Kensi's desk - which was NOT from Deeks, and which Nell promptly takes charge and disposes of.

The mole has to be someone who works in Ops, which is funny because there never used to be other people there! Apparently Hetty has a button that she can press to lock down the whole office - because rather than evacuate when there are levels of poison in the building, shutting everyone in and interrogating them is a smart idea. Granger's assistant (he has an assistant?) is also sick from the poison but Callen and Sam get to her in time.

The security system was conveniently down for an hour when the plant was placed - and they suspect the scary clipboard lady (even though she got shot.. twice) because she and her team were all over the building when they were doing their investigation.

Nell has to do polygraph tests on everyone and Eric wants to ask Hetty about aliens - and then starts talking about comic books. Your nerdy is showing, Beale... Turns out there was 50 grand deposited into his bank account and he freaks out so Nell slaps him. It's awesome. [Edit: TUMBLR JUST TOLD ME TO GO BACK AND LOOK AT WHEN HE'S TYPING IN HIS PASSWORD AND IT'S 2015ERIC+NELL AND HOLY SHIT OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SO MUCH - even though we all know that passwords show up as ************* when you input them, I'M WILLING TO OVERLOOK THAT!!!]

Hetty admits to having committed treason. 'But never against the United States.'
I guess we're allowed to keep using this, then.
She's also tried to injure/harm/kill Granger, but apparently it was a long time ago. Uhhh... More details on that, please.

Then some lady named 'Helen from Human Resources' (is that her last name?) hangs herself and everyone freaks out even more - then Eric and a bunch of others with 'suspicious anomalies' are corralled into a room and he gives Nell a look that breaks my heart. It can't be Eric!! Even Hetty seems resigned to the fact that sometimes you can't trust people you thought you could. But Hetty knows everything!! I hate to speak ill of the dead, but maybe Helen From Human Resources wasn't doing her job if she let a double-crosser be hired into their midst!
Although suspicion on Eric is a good time to bring this out again.

Deeks randomly turns into a medical examiner and realizes that Helen was strangled prior to hanging. Then he and Kensi get into a heated discussion about the murder and Deeks gets all Hannibal Lecter-y on her, smelling her hair while pretending to strangle her.

That's our Kensalina: more concerned about the sniffing than the strangling.
But suddenly DNA results can also be gotten in a few hours! And there should be skin under her fingernails (duh!) TV: Where factual forensics go to die.

Sam had a crazy cat lady in his family, and this is news to Callen. Oh and Helen was growing a whole bunch of wolfsbane at her house. I hate when shows do this - they act like they miss someone so much, even though they were never introduced to us before they died. Random office worker compares being locked in a large room with 6 other people and plenty of furniture to 'being trapped like caged animals'. Then as Kensi and Deeks are dealing with that douchebag, one of the other randoms presses a loaded syringe to Eric's neck. (of course, because he's the only one in that room that we'd care about, and because Hetty and a shitload of other agents are not RIGHT UPSTAIRS!) Somehow shooting one camera and a locking mechanism disables the fact that they've got control of the whole building. *Sigh* Usually they're so good with not having plot holes, but this is a little hard to believe.

WHY DID YOU NOT PUT THE MICROPHONE IN A LESS CONSPICUOUS PLACE??!!! LIKE A BUTTON ON HIS SHIRT?? Or better yet - have a fakeout earpiece so the guy thinks he found the real one but then stops looking!

OK now this episode makes no sense - the 'locked down' room where they put the suspects was the armory (great idea if they're potentially dangerous), and Kensi and Deeks are able to magically access the weapons, now that they need them in order to escape.

Nell somehow briefly mistakes Callen's voice on the phone for Eric's, and then he manages to lead the bad guy out but let Nell know what he's doing at the same time. Where the hell are the agents who were investigating Helen's suicide?? Once they reach the basement, the rest of the team arrive to save the day - Callen by stepping out of nowhere like a badass and saying 'Pick on someone your own size' and Sam by grabbing Eric and pulling him behind some conveniently located boxes.

Now the mole guy turns all Hannibal Lecter and tells Callen that they need him to work as a double agent. Callen asks if he 'passed out and missed something'. Then they call in some Russian(?) dudes and wave 'bye-bye!'

Eric is more disappointed about his broken nose and glasses than the fact that he was almost murdered, Nell takes his glasses off gently and touches his face, and Callen channels... my dad, and says 'Ooookay we're going to clear out before this gets awkward.' Awwww.

Granger takes Hetty's presence in his hospital room as a sign that he's not dead and in heaven. And I feel like some of those cuts on his face might need stitches, rather than the multiple sterile-strips that he has on them right now. But her watching him doesn't make up for the time she tried to kill him. Makes sense.

I don't believe that this is 100% resolved just yet - I mean, who was this dude working for? What was his endgame? MAYBE YOU DO NEED HIM AS A DOUBLE AGENT, CALLEN!! I sense a season-long operation plotline.

AND WILL ERIC AND NELL EVER KISS AGAIN?!!?!!?!! What did we miss after the rest of the team left the boatshed??
Until then, we'll just have to make do with this...
Someone (HETTY!) better put up plenty of mistletoe this year!!

OR DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2015?!! IS THAT WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO TELL US?!!
